The Mariposa Project is located in the Maule region, 118 km from the city of Talca, within two geothermal exploitation concessions, Laguna del Maule (4,000 Ha) and Pellado (16,000 Ha), at more than 2,000 masl, in the district of San Clemente.
The name Mariposa references the form of the geothermal resource in which the project is located. Its objective is the construction and operation of a geothermal power generation plant that will be connected to the National Electric System (SEN).
The project will provide SEN with approximately 200 MW of energy in a sustainable and renewable manner.
An estimated investment of MM USD 600 is projected.
We are currently preparing the Environmental Impact Study (EIA), which will be submitted to the environmental authorities of the region once we have discussed, collected and incorporated the observations and inputs of the local communities into our project design.
The EIA is being co-financed by the Geothermal Development Facility (GDF), a multilateral entity that aims to encourage public and/or private investment in geothermal power development in Latin America.
